It’s estimated that on average Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties responds to a disaster about once every day. A few years ago Jeanne Jones noticed that the local fleet of emergency vehicles was in pretty bad shape so she decided to start the red rose society which raises money for emergency vehicles. The event gains the funding needed for the emergency fleets by hosting events in which businesses and philanthropists donate money and possibly cars to Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties to help volunteers provide assistance to those in need.

 

Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties is setting a great example of how to creatively ways to raise funds for a very important cause. Your local chapter may not be in need of emergency vehicles but the decision to donate your car will go a long way towards helping your chapter get the resources it will need especially in the coming months as the occurrence of severe weather is likely to increase. A quick response during an emergency is critical to keeping people safe and Red Cross is only able to be first on the scene if it has the resources to do so. Red Cross depends on donations in order to survive. Any and all contributions be they time, money or a car donation will help your local chapter tremendously Every donation to your local chapter is greatly needed and appreciated.

 

Donating your car is free and easy you don’t even have to pay for towing. All you need to do is call or go online to find your local chapter’s car donation program and get started. Your donated car may be used to help volunteers deliver aid during an emergency or it the funds from your donated car may be used to purchase other essential emergency materials such as food, water, flashlights, batteries, blankets, etc.. Donating your old or unwanted car takes a burden off of your shoulders and and helps your local chapter be prepared to help your community as needed gives your local Red Cross much needed and undoubtedly appreciated assistance.
